Marinated herb pork back steaks
These pork loin steaks from the herb-cured pork are perfect for pan-frying or grilling. These tender steaks are refined with an oil-based herb marinade and bring a unique flavor to the plate. The cut comes from the loin of the herb-cured pork. Through our own breeding and slaughtering, we significantly influence the species-appropriate animal husbandry and thus the quality of the meat.
The characteristics of pork loin steaks
Pork loin steaks , also known as pork loin steaks , are located on the right and left sides of the spine. The loin is very low in fat and has little connective tissue, making it ideal for quick preparation. These steaks are excellent for a conscious diet, such as for athletes.
Raising our herb pigs
Our pig farm is located in the picturesque Markgräflerland region, on the Engler family farm—South Baden's first pig hotel since 2019. Here, the pigs live on straw, with plenty of outdoor space, and are raised in an animal welfare barn. The older barns are gradually being converted to the high standards of the pig hotel.
Every three weeks, around 240 piglets arrive, fed with grain and corn from the farm. They reach slaughter age at seven months. The slower fattening process compared to turbo-fattening results in higher-quality, drier meat.
Unlike industrial pig production, where frequent relocation is necessary and antibiotics are often used, our closed system allows rearing without antibiotics.
While conventional pork goes through six to seven stages, our meat only goes through two stages to reach the final consumer. The result: a premium product that ensures fair prices for consumers, farmers, and butchers. Our slaughter requirement is approximately 100 pigs per week, 20 of which come from nearby partner farms.
